If you can handle the hairpin bends, you’ll have a clear advantage here. You leave the two inns in Gfrill behind, take a few more bends and then you’re there, at the Rainguthof animal world. The kids are fascinated from the very first second. It’s easy to see why the Rainguthof animal world is one of the top excursion destinations in Merano. A visit to the local mountain, Vigiljoch, is a must when you’re in Lana. It’s the ideal place for a hike, especially with kids, as you get to enjoy a great view even though the paths are easy. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a relaxing hike from the Black Lake to the charming little church of St. Vigilius, followed by a stop at the Gampl family hut. The Vigiljoch excursion starts with the modern cable car, which takes you up to 1,486 metres in 6 minutes. From there, you can continue your journey on the historic chairlift. You glide over the picturesque landscape at a leisurely pace, which makes it wonderfully peaceful and relaxing.
