The Stubai Valley has so many great hiking trails and places to explore, it’s tough to decide where to go. If you’re looking for a real highlight, the Schlick 2000 hiking centre is the perfect choice! You can start your journey with a leisurely ride on the Kreuzjochbahn cable car, which will take you up to an altitude of 2,100 metres. Once you get to the top, you’ll be treated to a stunning view from the ‘StubaiBlick’ viewing platform. The rugged limestone peaks and wide valleys seem to lie directly below you, and it almost feels as if you could embrace the world. You might like to make a little detour here, before heading off to the tree house trail and on to the suspension bridge.

The best bit about it? If you’ve got the Stubai Super Card, you can use the cable car free of charge. Once you’ve stopped off for a quick look round the platform, it’ll take you back to the middle station, where you can walk along to Alpengasthof Vergör.

A family hike that you can tailor to your mood. You get to set the pace and choose the route.

From the middle station, the tree house path winds its way through the forest. It’s a path that will make your children’s eyes shine! As you follow the path, you’ll find some lovely little dwarf huts along the way, and they have everything you could possibly need! We’ve hidden some lovely little stamp tongs here for you to find. If you can find them all, you can exchange your collection card for a small surprise at the Vergör Jausenstation. The kids are there with so much joy, and even the adults can hardly resist the charm of this lovingly designed path!

After a relaxing break at the Alpengasthof Vergör, those with the energy for more hiking in Stubaital can enjoy the beautiful Sunnseit’n-Weg. This leads over a truly spectacular suspension bridge! As you cross the bridge, your stomach might start to rumble, but the incredible view will be well worth the wait!

We just want to remind you that you know your kids best and that you’ll know whether it’s the right time to head back to the valley station. If you do decide to continue to the suspension bridge, just make sure you check the bus departure times so you can plan your return journey.
