TIPI TIME FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY WHILE GLAMPING WITH CHILDREN IN FRANCE

Glamping meets surfing at Seignosse

Hand-written wooden signs show us the way to “Dahlia”, our family tipi for the next five nights. While the luggage is brought to the tent, we move step by step towards a new experience of family vacation: glamping with children.

But more than Glamourous Camping, the name “Cocooning Tipi” hits it even better. Even when we take the first glances at our home in the middle of nature between the nature reserve around the Etang Blanc and the Atlantic Ocean at Seignosse, it becomes clear why we can look forward to cosy times ahead. Cuddly beds, basket boxes, in which everything is available from the hotplate to a complete dish to the washing-up utensils, a small refrigerator and towels for everyone.

In the finest summer holiday weather, we always move the cooking in front of the tent, where we have our own dining and chill area with an unobstructed view of the shady trees. For bad weather, in addition to the reception tipi, a lovingly designed tent in bohemian style is available, with cooking facilities, tea and coffee bar as well as lounge sofa and children’s corner with painting and toys. If you don’t want to do without W-LAN, you can surf for free in the hammocks at the main tent.

At the campsite, the base for the cocooning tipis, the pool, a tennis court, beach volleyball court and the Nautique station, a rental of canoes and rowing boats for the adjacent lake, can be used free of charge, as well as table tennis, boules and board games in the bar.

Europe’s hotspots of surfing, with the beaches of Hossegor, Seignosse and Cap Breton, are between 10 and 20 minutes away by car. At low tide, even the little ones can have their first experiences in the waves. We fell in love with the Plage Penon of Seignosse, not least because of the wonderful Cabane, the beach bar with the best tapas at sunset.

While we can already look to Spain from here, we enjoy after a happy day with sun, salt water and surfing, the most delicious croquettes and crepes for dessert, before heading back to our cocooning teepe in the hinterland.
