The Geheimatorte are delighted to invite you to discover some of the lesser-known places in Munich that are easily accessible by public transport. These include the Lenbachhaus in Munich’s Maxvorstadt district, which is well worth a visit! It is particularly famous for its impressive collection of Expressionist works by the artists’ association “Der Blaue Reiter”, which included some of the greatest artists of all time, such as Wassily Kandinsky.

There’s no doubt about it: this museum is an absolute must-visit with your kids! It’s the perfect place to make art fun and accessible for little ones. The creative Audioguide is a fantastic addition, with other kids explaining the art in a way that’s engaging and entertaining for kids. With funny stories, exciting background information and lots of interesting facts to listen to, a visit to the museum becomes a special experience for the little ones.

On the trail of the Blue Rider: an excursion to Murnau

If you want to really get to know the Blue Rider, you should definitely take a trip to Murnau! The Münter House is located there, and it’s a hidden gem! It’s where Gabriele Münter, Wassily Kandinsky, and other members of the artist group lived and worked for several years. It’s a truly special place, and it’s even more magical when you combine a visit with a walk through the picturesque Murnau moor.
