Get to know the theater magic in the hand puppet theater with loving productions
For 40 years now, the Kasperl in the “Kleines Theater im Pförtnerhaus” has been inspiring its audience. This charming children’s theater is located in a small park directly above the Stauwehr and the Isarauen in Munich.
With its cozy atmosphere, the inviting theater café and the popular figures Kasperl and Seppl, the theater is a magnet for children from the age of 3.

As a hand puppet theater with loving productions , the stage particularly appeals to younger children. The performances are suitable for children from 3 or 4 years and up to about 8 to 9 years. For the smaller ones, the stories often play at home, while for the older ones, fairytale and adventurous elements are added.
The program changes weekly, and the regular public performances take place on Sundays at 11:00 and 15:00 and on Wednesdays at 15:00. In addition to the public performances, the theater also offers special events by appointment, especially for kindergartens, school classes and children’s birthday parties.
The theater is led by the former preschool teacher Liselotte Bothe. She not only writes the pieces, but also brings the dolls to life together with her husband.
