Wirtshaus “Maxi”, as we like to call our favorite restaurant in Munich, has absolute honorary status with our kids. It is the place to go when it comes to really good traditional food with children in Munich.
Why? Everything is just right here! Genuine Munich hospitality, Bavarian coziness and the really best schnitzel in Munich in the middle of beautiful Glockenbach. All generations, from young to old, feel at home here and it is precisely this diverse crowd that we particularly like.

There is a small children’s menu, high chairs and an extra big smile for the kids. That’s all it takes to keep the kids happy when eating out in Munich. We always have a small bag of coloring materials with us and it has often happened that a whole coloring crew of kids has gathered at our table. This is what real togetherness looks like.
The pub itself is very cozy. Modern and splendidly Bavarian at the same time. The typical beer mugs of the regulars adorn the walls behind the bar, the tiled stove crackles on cold days and live Bavarian music is often played next to the gallery at weekends.
When it comes to the food, the main focus is on origin, bread is even baked in-house and old Bavarian recipes are spiced up. The many vegetarian and sometimes vegan dishes also have their place on the menu and are simply really “good”. For dessert, there is either Kaiserschmarren or my favorite, the Apfelküchlein.
In summer you can even sit outside. However, you have to be careful with small children as some of the tables are close to the street.
