Exciting adventure trail for kids in Graubünden
Advertising – We discovered this favourite place as part of a cooperation with Switzerland Tourism.
Disentis is famous for its impressive Benedictine monastery, but there’s more to the town than meets the eye. One of the fathers was really into crystals and spent a lot of time in the mountains looking for new specimens. A while back, he stashed a pretty valuable crystal in a hidden spot. The treasure hunt in Disentis is all about finding the treasure and learning the story behind it.
The treasure hunt kicks off at the Fortuna sports centre with a quick briefing. You’ll get a bag full of useful tools: a compass, a screwdriver that’s seen better days, templates and a map. You’ll also need a mobile phone so you can get clues along the way and call for help if you need it. With all the right gear, you’re ready to embark on your exciting search through meadows, forests and the picturesque streets of Disentis.
Tinkering for the whole family
The treasure hunt is designed to be challenging and entertaining for kids and parents alike. You’ll need to solve puzzles and complete tasks that will also challenge adults. We don’t want to give too much away just yet, but we can tell you that by the end of the treasure hunt, you’ll not only know where the crystal is hidden, but you’ll also have learned a lot about the history of Disentis, the monastery, various bird calls, local cheese production and much more.
This adventure trail for kids in Graubünden is great for the whole family and combines fun, learning and exercise in the beautiful natural surroundings of Disentis. It’s also worth mentioning that the treasure hunt is part of the Swisstainable Kids programme, which takes place in Disentis at the end of August.
