Just a stone’s throw from Eisenstadt is Forchtenstein Castle. In addition to the imposing castle, the area also offers a real gourmet restaurant for young and old and just around the corner a reptile zoo.

The Burgenland and its numerous palaces and castles, each as unique as they are special. The majestic castle sits on a rocky cone of the Rosalien Mountains and offers a breathtaking view up to Lake Neusiedler. Built in the 13th. Century, the castle was later expanded by Paul I. Esterházy to a baroque high-rise castle. On the next visit, together with the children, you can not only clarify the question of how it was possible to create so much material on the rock, but also explore the inner workings of the castle. There are just as fascinating offers and guided tours for families as in the Schloss Esterhazy, just a 15-minute drive away.
