Here are our eight personally tested tips for your family time in the Stubai Valley

Experiences Around the Stubai Glacier

The Stubai Glacier is the perfect destination when the temperatures rise in the valley. The impressive 3S Eisgratbahn will lift you up to nearly 3,000 meters in just a few minutes. With the Stubai Super Card, which you receive with your stay at partner accommodations from the very first night, you can ride the cable cars for free.

At the top, you’ll find a fascinating world of ice and snow. The moon-like landscape is a great adventure for kids, and it’s a special experience to slide through the snow in a t-shirt in the middle of summer. A highlight for both kids and adults is the large wooden piste groomer, which not only looks impressive but also invites climbing. The summit platform “TOP OF TYROL” at 3,210 meters offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps – the short walk to the platform is definitely worth it.

Kilometers to the platform: 1 km | Duration: 2-3 hours | Recommended age: 3 years and up | For more details, check out the interactive map at www.stubai.at.

Adventure on the WildeWasserWeg

One absolute highlight is the WildeWasserWeg at the Grawa Waterfall. This hiking trail winds alongside the river and through narrow, winding paths that the kids especially enjoyed. Even though they were pretty tired by the end, they still had energy to splash around in the spots where you can cool off. The whole scene feels like it’s straight out of a movie, and the rock piles by the river invite everyone to build their own.

Kilometers: 4 km | Duration: 1.5 hours of walking | Recommended age: 5+ years | The duration of the hikes is based on our experience; for more precise details, check out the interactive map at www.stubai.at.

Trip to Schlick 2000

Take the Schlick 2000 cable car up to the impressive “StubaiBlick” observation platform for nearly 360-degree views. From the Kreuzjochbahn mid-station, you can hike along the Baumhausweg to the Jausenstation Vergör. Along the way, you’ll find 7 dwarf huts with hidden stamps for collecting on your cards. At the Berggasthof Vergör, kids can exchange their completed stamp cards for a small gift – a much better motivator than gummy bears in the backpack!

Kilometers: 6 km | Duration: 2-3 hours | Recommended age: 4+ years | The duration of the hikes is based on our experience; for more precise details, check out the interactive map at www.stubai.at.

Fun and Relaxation in Bad Weather

If the weather isn’t cooperating, the Stubay Adventure Pool offers a fantastic alternative. You can let loose on the wild tube slide or the ring slide while it’s storming outside.

The Serles Park and Summer Toboggan Run

The Serlesbahn in Mieders is a fantastic destination for families in the Stubai Valley, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing outing. Take the gondola up to the “Koppeneck” mountain station, where you’ll find the “Serles Park” with its various small lakes. Kids can splash around by the water while parents unwind on the many sun loungers. Afterwards, the Serles train will take you to Europe’s highest monastery, “Maria Waldrast.” Back at the mountain station, you can enjoy a delicious lunch, and the summer toboggan run offers a thrilling and fun descent into the valley.

Accommodation Tip in the Stubai Valley: Auenhof Familien & Vitalhotel

If you’re looking for a family-friendly place to stay in the Stubai Valley, the Auenhof Familien & Vitalhotel is a great choice. What makes it special is the warm, family atmosphere of the hotel—each little guest is greeted by name. The garden, with its rocking loungers, playground, and charming animals, is like a little vacation dream. Especially in the afternoon, when everyone returns tired from the mountains, it’s the perfect place to relax. While parents enjoy watching the paragliders during an Aperitif, the kids excitedly talk about the indoor pool, the playroom with the iWall, and of course, the rabbits in the garden.

Thank you for the unforgettable summer time we enjoyed with you. So, the question isn’t if we’ll come back, but when!
